Threes
What’s that old adage about bad things happening in triplicate? I’m not sure I believe that sort of thing, but I may be inclined to give the theory a second thought lately. (or maybe a 3rd, just for continuity!)
Anyway, car troubles are seemingly over and done with. (dare I say that?)
Bring on the house troubles!
Apparently GI has lots of sediment in their water, and a storm sewer system that is less than functional. So, we’ve had trouble with a slow main drainage line from our house. It started acting up again last week, and after doing the usual round of drain cleaning etc… Drew wakes up Friday morning to find wet carpet on the OTHER side of the basement! This is NOT good.
After removing some paneling and disassembling a wall, we (by we I mean Drew), discover a broken clean out cap. So the afore mentioned slow drain took the path of least resistance- unfortunately all over the basement carpet and walls….
I’m hoping that if the theory of bad events happening in threes is in fact true, I can consider my poorly chosen paint color for my office wall to be the third and final of our series of unfortunate events. What I’d hoped to be a soothing blue/green color turned out to in fact resemble concrete.
Of course I could probably chalk up our broken glass in the back door, or the shelf Drew broke while bringing it into the house to the theory of threes… However if I do that, then apparently I’ve already disproved the theory as that’s several more events than permitted. Thereby bringing me to this:
