Well...

The good news is the Taurus cost nearly $100 less to fix than we thought it would. It was still spendy, but less is always a little better.

In other car related news, Drew is no longer the proud owner of the El Camino. (I think he’s hoping we’ll allow him to leave behind the theme song that accompanied the “mino”, but I know better!)

Our second vehicle is now a 1994 Cadillac Seville. Yeah baby! In all actuality, it’s a nicer car than the Taurus, but it’s got more miles, so it’ll still probably be the secondary car for the family.

Things are terribly busy around here lately. Isaac started soccer again. Drew is coaching his team. We had our first game last Monday night, and WOW was it cold! I’m really hoping for some warmer weather before the season gets too far ahead of us!

Revenge of the Taurus

Have I ever mentioned I hate Taurus-es. (Not sure what the plural form of Taurus is… Tauri? Tauruses? Pieces of junk????)

Apparently, the steering rack something or other is out on our car, and it’s going to be expensive to fix. Stinking car. Stinking stinking car… – sigh -

For the record...

I designed my first ever web banner!

The website it’ll be at is:
Scrap Love Blog

Pretty simple, but I’m excited about it! Maybe someday I’ll feel inspired enough to change this blog up. :D

I love listening to my kids talk!

Today I’m scrapbooking some Christmas pictures, and this inevitably leads to Isaac and Eli having an in-depth discussion regarding Santa, and the reindeer, and that whole bit. Here’s what I’ve learned from my children today:

– Santa is real, but all of those guys at malls and pre-schools during the season are most definitely NOT the real guy. Sometimes they don’t wear the right shoes.

– Rudolph is NOT real. He’s just a story they made up for TV.

– The real reindeer, like “Gonnard” and “Dixon”, those are the ones Santa actually uses for Christmas night because they’re REALLY fast.

I’m having a good laugh today for sure!

And I’ve just been informed it is “seventy-five thirty o’clock” and that is most definitely time to get ready for lunch! ;)

Eli is 3!

Happy Birthday little man!

We had a wonderful weekend with lots of guests. Both sides of the family were well represented and we were so excited to have Great-Grandma and Big Pop come as well! Good times!

UGH!

We’ve gotten a bunch of nasty spam here recently, so I’ve changed how comments can be left.

You’re still able to comment, it just won’t show up right away as I now have turned off automatic posting of them. So, as soon as I see it I can approve it and it will “go live” so to speak.

However, I have to say, if we get much more nasty spam, I’m going to turn comments completely off b/c that’s just annoying and gross.

Sorry for the inconvenience and for anything icky you might’ve run across. Not something the admin of this blog support that’s for sure!!!

Snow Angels

Posted by Michelle to Jan 17, 01:55 PM

Finally! Seems like we’ve been waiting all winter for some decent snow! The boys have been so disappointed with our two previous ice storms of the year (although the most recent one was pretty impressive).

We got a few inches of snow this past weekend, but Monday and Tuesday proved to be a bit too cold for good outside time. (Call me crazy, I just didn’t think it was a good idea for them to be out playing when the temperature was -2!)

Today the temperature is a balmy 25 degrees, and the boys are happily playing in the snow!

Holiday Cookies

Posted by Michelle to Dec 18, 09:28 PM

Having a bit of fun tonight with some holiday baking! I’m making a couple of cookie recipes from Foodtv.com: Paula Deen’s Monster Cookies and Alton Brown’s Peppermint Pinwheels. Gotta love AB!

At present, the Monster Cookies are baking, and the pinwheel dough is chilling in the fridge. Mmm… my house smells pretty good I think!

Christmas decor

So we finally put the tree up tonight! I’ve got more pictures to share, but I thought I’d at least get this one up quick, so we had something to show for our efforts! ;) The boys had a great time and feel like the tree is their biggest masterpiece to date!
